Here is a list of all of the short stories and portions of my novels available on jonbrodsky.com:
Short Stories
Admissions Test is about a young man coping with the death of his grandfather while falling out of love with his girlfriend. It’s very good. Not so good that you should plagiarize it, though. Besides, this story, like everything else I write, is copywritten, which means that if you copy it for, say, your 10th grade writing assignment, your teacher will find out that I’m the one who wrote it, flunk you and then you’ll end up in a reform school somewhere.
Eventual Apathy is about the aftermath of a break-up. Actually, it’s about the aftermath of the break-up featured in last month’s story, Admissions Test. Don’t worry, you don’t need to read that one first for this to make any sense. This story is the second in what should be seven interlocking short stories. This story deals with pretty complex issues, so don’t read this if subjects such as rape and petty rumors get your blood boiling. Heck, this story makes me angry. But shouldn’t a good story get you to sit up and take notice?
Friction is a bit of a departure for me. For starters, its very, very short — under four pages. Second, it’s incredibly dark. It’s kind of scary dark. I read through it, and I started to shudder a bit. It’s the kind of story that you read when you’re having the worst day in the history of mankind, and it will put everything in perspective.
